Update on Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenz
Due to the highly contagious nature of HPAI, the VHC is implementing strict precautions to reduce the risk of exposure of hospital patients to this virus. The Exotics Zoological Medicine Service is currently unable to accept poultry and avian wildlife species (chickens, turkeys, quail, pheasants, and waterfowl). Client-owned birds, such as parrots and canaries, that live indoors will still continue to be seen by our veterinarians. If you have questions, please call in advance, 785-532-5690.
