Case Follow-up

• One fetus was manually extracted. This fetus was deceased.

• A cesarean section and ovariohysterectomy was performed.

• The other 4 fetuses delivered by C-section were deceased.

• Peritonitis and diffuse petechia was noted.

• Peritoneal fluid was collected for cytology and aerobic culture.

• Peritoneal cytology: Free bacteria and neutrophils present.

• Peritoneal culture: Enterococcus faecalis.

• Patient died within 24 hours post surgery.
