Interpretation

Radiographic Findings:

There is a diffuse moderate to severe interstitial lung pattern. There are questionable small pulmonary nodules. There is a focal nodular interstitial lung pattern in the caudal dorsal lung fields ventral to the 11th thoracic vertebra. There is a linear 5mm mineral opaque structure within the pulmonary paranchyma between the 10th and 11th ribs. There is narrowing of the tracheal lumen throughout the cervical region and widening of the lumen throughout the thoracic region.

Radiographic Impressions:

Malalignment of the trachea may be due to positioning. Differentials for the pulmonary pattern include infectious (viral, toxoplasmosis, cytauxzoonosis), granulomatous disease or metastatic neoplasia (lymphosarcoma).

Cytological and histopathological results:

Cytauxzoonosis
